How many wishes will really matter?
How many will stay?
How many will scatter?
Some will stay half-finished, some will come complete
Out of all the ones we carry — how many will we need?
Don't hold dreams too tightly, don't lock them in your palms
The ones that find their answers were written to be calm
Out of all the ones we carry — how many will we need?
Keep walking, keep walking — the end is close they say
But stop for just a moment, and it all just drifts away
Out of all the wishes calling from the deep
Tell me, how many will really matter when we sleep?
If you believe it, every trouble's just a little thing
But make it heavy in your mind — and it becomes a king
You frown, the world will frown right back, same tune, same floor
You smile, and even hard times learn to smile a little more
Out of all the wishes calling from the deep
Tell me, how many will really matter when we sleep?
Every small desire dressed up like a need
Every silent prayer pretending to be greed
But when the noise falls quiet, and the crowd has gone away
Only two or three were real — the rest just learned to stay
Keep walking, keep walking — the end is close they say
But stop for just a moment, and it all just drifts away
Out of all the wishes…
How many…
How many will we really need?
How many wishes will really matter?
Not all of them
Just the ones we feed
